Teachers

Teachers

Aro teachers lead lives that are, in many ways, quite ordinary. They may have conventional jobs, or raise children. They are not monks or nuns; some teach as married couples. Their religious practice and insight are inseparable from everyday life. Facing the same life challenges as most other people, they are able to offer advice that is grounded in personal experience as well as decades of training.

Our local teachers are Lama Métsal, Lamas Shé-zér and Namgyal, and Naljorma Thrin-lé. They regularly lead classes and meditation sessions at Aro Ling. Métsal is also the administrative coordinator for the centre.

Several other Aro Lamas visit Aro Ling to lead classes and weekend programmes. Among these are Ngak’chang Rinpoche and Khandro Déchen, the heads of the Aro lineage, from Cardiff; Ngakma Nor’dzin Pamo and Ngakpa ’ö-Dzin Tridral, also of Cardiff; and Lama Bar-ché Dorje, of Finland, who specializes in teaching the Gésar martial arts.

Teachers from other traditions may also teach at Aro Ling; see our events calendar for details.
