Aro Yoga and sKu-mNyé

Several systems of Tibetan Yoga are taught at Aro Ling.

sKu-mNyé is the most readily accessible. This is a system of physical movements which give rise to profound physical sensations which are more pervasive than simple bodily experience. Exercises range from those suitable for individuals with limited physical fitness, to those which challenge practitioners with deep knowledge of other physical systems such as Yantra Yoga and Hatha Yoga.

The particular system of Tibetan Yoga taught at Aro Ling comes from a section of Buddhist practice called Dzogchen long-dé – the ‘series of the vast expanse’. It is possible that those who are prepared to experience themselves and their world in a different way, may learn that there is a very real and accessible interaction between the inner and outer elements. Once the gentle thunder of this connection has been experienced it is no longer possible to be dominated by: boredom; fear; neurotic obsession; paranoia; or depression.
