| Getting more involved |
Getting more involvedAro Ling exists to serve you—bringing the benefits of meditation, Buddhism, yoga, participatory art, and complementary therapies to the Bristol community. To do that, we need your financial help, and your volunteer effort. You can get more involved through Donation, Membership, Sponsorship, or Volunteering. DonationThe fees we charge for our programmes do not come close to covering our costs (mainly rent). The difference is made up by gifts from people like you—who appreciate what Aro Ling offers, and wish to support its continuing existence. Aro Ling is a project supported by Sang-ngak-chö-dzong (SNCD), the Aro Buddhist Tradition’s registered charity (#1019886). You can support the centre by making a donation to SNCD and directing the funds to Aro Ling. You can make a one-time gift, or set up a series of regularly monthly donations. Please also consider leaving a bequest to SNCD in your will. Aro Ling MembershipMembership entitles you to unlimited free use of our meditation space whenever it is not being used for other events. It enables access to ‘Members only’ events, and entitles you to attend one Aro Tradition class each week free. Members receive a 10% discount on all items in the shop, on top of any advertised discount or promotion (this excludes Artwork being sold on behalf of a resident artist). Membership costs £9 per month, or £100 for a full year. Please contact us for details. Aro Ling SponsorshipSponsorship is a way for those who feel so moved to provide the Centre with added financial support. Aro Ling would not have come into being if it were not for the generosity of such individuals. The recommended minimum donation for a Sponsor is £500 per annum. Sponsors receive the benefits of Membership (above) and can attend all Aro events at the Centre free of charge. VolunteerAro Ling runs mainly on the creativity, skills, enthusiasm, and hard work of volunteers. Volunteering is also a good way to get involved, to learn more about the Aro tradition, and to become a part of our community. Helping produce programmes and running the centre can be hard work, but it is also fun, and spiritually rewarding in a different way from attending classes.
